Personal thoughts on Recociliation:

I am pure WhiteBred, descended from ignorant immigrants lured into Colonizing stolen Land in the Moose Mountains north of Arcola. My entire Life has been one of privilege.

I openly acknowledge and accept this as Fact.

Accepting this as Fact and knowing that I carry no personal shame for what went down has given me the Courage to LEARN about what REALLY happened - the Atrocities, the Genocide, the focused Intent to "Eradicate All Things Indian".

This to me (WhiteBred) is Reconciliation:
  • Step One: Accept that this shit happened.

  • Step Two: LEARN the Truth about what actually went down. (Not just the Residential Schools but ALL of it.)

  • Step Three: LISTEN! As Black Elk so eloquently put it; "Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children."
